Brief & audience
Bring heritage imagery and commemorative text together with a usable monthly calendar.
My contribution
Calendar page design, art direction and editorial arrangement.
Constraints
The page has to support two kinds of reading: the image and heritage story, and the smaller day-and-date grid.
Design decisions
- A framed landscape occupies the left side, while the January date grid has a dedicated column on the right.
- A portrait medallion and gold ornament connect the photograph to the commemorative subject.
- Cream space and restrained serif typography separate the calendar information from the more decorative imagery.
The featured sample is the retained January 2026 page. The archive also contains an alternate layout study with placeholder dates; it is labelled separately. These files establish the design, not a completed print run.
